Starting Monday, January 2, 2023, marks a major milestone in the digital transformation of the global diamond industry – the launch of GIA Diamond Dossier. The Institute is providing the most popular certification through years of innovative research and globally recognized diamond grading standards, effectively accessible to consumers. This is GIA's first print report to go digital; By 2025, all GIA certifications will be digital, giving retailers and consumers a more convenient, deeper experience.
Digital GIA Diamond Profile certifications will be available on the GIA App (available for Android and iOS devices), on GIA's online Certification Check portal, and through the Institute's application programming interface Integrate reporting data into customer business documents. Print versions of these certificates will no longer be produced. All printed GIA Diamond Profile certificates remain valid.
Digital certificates include a Report Access Card with a report number, a QR code linked to the digital report, and 4C information that can be embedded on receipts, invoices, and e-commerce websites.

GIA Executive Director Susan Jacques said. “Moving to digital reporting will reduce the environmental impact of our operations, which is part of our strategy to ensure GIA continues its mission of protecting consumers and fueling their confidence for decades to come.”
GIA has an extensive transformation program that includes customer support, a dedicated website, how-to videos, informative webinars, retailer resources and a robust email outreach campaign to helps ensure a smooth transition for all users and relies on GIA certification.

GIA diamond profiles are available for D to Z diamonds from 0.15 to 1.99 carats without color treatment. GIA Diamond Certificates printed before January 2023 are still valid.
