THE SPECTACULAR JOURNEY OF GOLD DIAMOND KIMBERLEY

In 2019, along the Vaal River terrace in an ancient alluvial diamond mine near Kimberley, South Africa, a beautiful yellow rough diamond weighing more than 100 carats emerged.

This geographical origin has been the cradle of discovery of other famous gemstones including the Eureka, Oppenheimer, Star of Africa and the 2016 Mouawad Kimberley Star, a large fancy vivid yellow pear-cut diamond the most ever classified by the Gemological Institute of America.

Immediately after the discovery of this beautiful rough diamond, the rare and unique crystal was acquired by Mouawad. Then, in a six-month process, it is scanned, analyzed, cut and polished by Mouawad's master craftsmen in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The scan confirmed the potential of a cushion-cut diamond weighing approximately 71 carats and a satellite stone weighing approximately 10 carats in a radiation cut. After being carefully cut by Mouawad's craftsmen, the rough diamond becomes two distinct pieces: the larger stone is finished as a 71.13-carat cushion-shaped fancy deep yellow diamond, arranged in graded VVS2 for clarity, while the satellite stone completes the 10.17-carat radiant-cut diamond, which was internally rated flawless, with both diamonds displaying excellent polish and symmetry.

These two diamonds join recent acquisitions, such as the 51.03-carat D Flawless Dynasty diamond and the 54.21-carat Mouawad Dragon, the largest round brilliant yellow diamond in the world. world, taking their place in the ever-growing Mouawad collection. This collection includes many of the world's most extraordinary diamonds, such as the 245.35 carat Jubilee diamond, the 135.92 carat Queen of the Netherlands diamond, the 69.42 carat Taylor Burton and the large cushion The D-shaped IF weighs 218.08 carats.
